And sorry for my bad english.
A quick reminder, because I’ve read in many reactions to the new single that Taka’s vocals are autotuned…
I’ve only heard MLF and Decision and… it’s not. At least in those two songs. Autotuning is not the same thing as vocoding. Not to mention there’s many (shitload) other effects that can be put on vocals. Like there are saturators or saturation-like effects (oh my fave Decapitator <3)… even distortion… anyhow! If anything makes the vocals sound this weirdly artificial (to me) is the funny reverb put on it in some places. You can do really crazy stuff to vocals with only different types of plug-in reverberations… ekhm… as well as delay/echo, but that mostly applies to MLF.
I do agree they’re overdone tho and as much as I was skeptical about MLF for being messy, repetitive and overloaded with effects… Decision is worse… and to explain what I don’t like about it would take up too much time and space. American producers - why would you do that to OOR? Make them sound like every other pop-rock band… It never ceases to amaze me how they manage to do it with all the bands…
I’m just glad now that I stopped fangirling over bands in general because I’d have been really disappointed by this single. Now all I feel is just something like “I told you so” and my sound engineer senses hurting a bit (like why the bass in MLF fluctuates?! T_T).
Maybe the whole album won’t be that bad, maybe Decision was just an experiment of sorts. They always made really varied songs…
